Thoth’s Girl Oh Yeah !! I loved this instantly ! Very melodic throughout incorporating piano and other instrumentals. Then there's the guy's voice, I don’t understand a word he’s saying but he sounds a bit upset and emotional and I totally relate because I’m melancholic and bittersweet myself most of the time. 😡 This is a keeper folks, grab it right away.

Metallurgical Fire This is one of those surprise gems that you will instantly love. The concept may seem strange and make some people want to pass by, but they’d be missing out on a fantastic album. Favorite track: Schwimme Ewig.

Mikell Czermendy Well way to screw up my end-of-year list!

A tremolo-picking, bassline-kicking, blast-beating, acoustic-breaking, melody-driven emotional powerhouse. Can't get enough. Favorite track: Das Ungetüm.

Dave Aftandilian Great variety of moods on this release, from screaming anger to introspective melancholy. Plus I’m a sucker for stories of human/animal transformation/hybridity. What would it be like to live as a liminal monster, neither fish nor man, fitting in neither beneath the water nor on land? Powerful metaphor for the pain all liminal beings feel, caught between two worlds, including many of us metal fans….

Kraahl I too usually am reluctant with pre-orders unless it's of a band I'm familiar with. Nemus is definitely not a band/project that I am familiar with, but after hearing "Blut Und Schuppen", I couldn't help but pre-order. There's such a great, dark and haunting melancholly atmosphere captured here and over it is this harsh voice, screaming in agony and pain. It's all very well done! I'm definitely looking forward to hearing the rest of the album! Favorite track: Blut Und Schuppen.

Tyme "Nachts Im Teich" is a haunting track that torturously and effortlessly flows through its seven minutes and forty three seconds. The vocals are delivered with an air of desperate suffering that never sounds forced or crosses over into the realm of parody.

Well chosen tremolo riffs with a dab of Sargeist-ian influence ebb and flow fluidly between the ambient interludes.

If this is how Nemus has chosen to end this record I certainly can't wait to dig into it in its entirety.

Only asking myself why I didn’t pick this up earlier. Winter Spells is excellent. The vocals are perfect. It’s cold but beautiful. The Burzum influence is pretty pronounced in some places, but the album is its own entity. Metallurgical Fire
